Origins

Riad opens in september 2022, the founders of the Riad, Cristina and Albino – a portuguese couple who are paramedic and doctor – art collectors and passionate about moroccan history, culture and arquitecture, wanted to share their fondness for misterious and seductive atmospheres, creating an authentic charm that is characteristic of a richly decorated and sumptuous oriental palace.

The project began with the purchase of a plot of land in a priviledged location in the medina of Marrakech, attempting to sublimely portray the beauty and charm of the magnificent work of the master craftsmen, coming from every corner of Morocco, that overflow with sophisticated details. The architectural project was made by a moroccan architect and the construction was carried out based on studies about old mosques and palaces traditions.

Artisanally elaborated works were impressively developed, such as zellige, plaster, wood, ornamental pillars and archs, that constitute true works of art. The design of the rooms and suites with different decorations, atmospheres and styles was designed with a personal stamp, giving an idyllic and majestic environment.

Part of the cultural wealth of Morocco resides in arab, berber and islamic handicrafts, where different materials are finely worked by hand, faithful to the tradition to elaborate decorative objects with charm and exuberance. You can appreciate various pieces of jewelery with a high visual impact, with originality, beauty and symbolism, including decorative fabrics with ethnic ornaments and embroidery in silk and velvet, creating fabulous pieces, which can be admired at Perlekech Riad & Spa.
